Sponge is essential.
0:00
You can call me Spongebob.
0:03
Damn, I should have said that.
0:09
What's up, GQ Vic Oladipo and Indiana Pacers, and these are my essentials.
0:09
My first essential, my toiletry/all-purpose bag.
0:23
It's funny because when I first got in the league, I used to see everybody carrying these bags and I never understood why, and then I got one and now I can't go anywhere without it.
0:23
It's Louis Vuitton, so much so, I keep it.
0:29
It's still stylish at the same time, so it matches off.
0:39
It kind of matches the one I'm wearing today.
0:37
A good size, you can put your phone, wallet, everything in here.
0:43
So, I got some things in here to show you.
0:43
This is my Vaseline, all-purpose Vaseline.
0:46
Put it on my lips, if there's no lotion, I use it on my body.
0:51
Got to keep my chocolate skin real nice and real bright, you know, keep the melanin real fresh.
0:57
Easy for me to get at you because I'm darn skinny, got to get my elbows.
0:57
My elbows are good, but then these little creases in the corners, that be actually some of y'all know what I'm talking about, because some of y'all got some corners right now, but you know, use that real quick man, show it real nice and real, real smooth.
0:57
My second essential, sponge for my hair.
0:57
This is crazy because for like the first 22 years of my life, I didn't have hair.
0:57
I shaved, I had short hair, look, but I'll never go back to that.
1:24
I love having hair.
1:24
Ladies love that I have hair, so I keep my sponge with me, you know, just to keep the curls, you know, looking real nice, real tight.
1:30
So you can't go anywhere without this.
1:32
When my hair is in curls, I have a fro, pretty much from like 9:00 a.m. to probably like 4 or 5 p.m.
1:46
I have a pick in my hair, like literally I keep it right here in my fro just to keep the old-school swag, you know.
1:46
I had to use the word of the picks in there.
1:46
I'm trying to bring that back.
1:46
So I got all kind of picks, but I walk around with this one, yeah.
1:46
If it doesn't look right, I'll pick out my hair again, make sure it's even and then I use my sponge, so it kind of works in cahoots together.
1:46
It's like a chain reaction, everything has to work, but I heard nobody.
1:46
I think there'll be a point where they'll put picks in here and I've have all kind of picks, variety picks, blue picks, yellow picks, picks with words on it, you know, picks with a fist on it.
1:46
I'm going to go to the commissioner, we're going to talk about this.
1:46
We might make this a reality, pick life.
1:46
It's my Aventus Creed cologne.
1:46
This is the only cologne I wear.
1:46
This is to a point where sometimes online not even using that, I still smell like that because it's like anybody that I wear it that much, so cologne is just like that, it smells like roses and in the garden, you know how you fall in the garden and the aroma kind of just hits you, you know, it kind of smells like that.
1:46
But it's not too strong, it's just right, kind of like my personality, kind of like who I am, like I'm not too high, I'm not too low, just right.
1:46
So I gotta Aventus Creed every day of the week, cause you don't want to smother, then you don't want any friends.
1:46
Alright, this is my dog tag and it was given to me by one of my best friends and I wear it every single day and it has the four most powerful women in my life on here and their initials.
1:46
I'm Joan, Christy, Kendra and Victoria, my three sisters and my mother.
1:46
They made me the man I am today.
1:46
I just put the women on here so that feels special and it's a Tiffany.
1:46
I don't think my dad want to be on a Tiffany's activities dog chains.
1:46
I took my mother on a mother/son trip to Israel.
1:46
There was this gift shop right before we went to the Holy Church, the Holy Sepulchre, which is a church where they have Christ died, where Christ was buried and where Christ was laid after he was taken off the cross all in one place.
1:46
Their tradition is buy one of these and when you put it on one of the three places, it becomes a holy, a holy arm.
1:46
My mom bought these for me, these two little crosses.
1:46
She put them on all three places.
1:46
She blessed them and she prayed over them.
1:46
Now I take them with me everywhere and every game.
1:46
I put them in my socks, win, lose or draw, kind of like having a protector here.
1:46
Of course, I'm going to be holy.
1:46
This is my journal.
1:46
Two years ago, I got traded twice in a year.
1:46
I had not been journaling before that, it was a tough time for me mentally as a person.
1:46
I later then invested in getting a sports psychiatrist, a sports doctor.
1:46
Came across a guy named Dr. Carr, who was actually our team psychiatrist now for the Indiana Pacers.
1:46
He was the first person that to tell me that I should or try this, start journaling.
1:46
Now, I absolutely can't go anywhere without it, but if some ideas that stuff be here that I don't want anybody to know about, but to be able to write it down helps me have a clear mind and to be at peace.
1:46
So it's like my peace journal.
1:46
I never thought I would be a two-phone guy, but as I got older and I realized that life was more than just basketball, I had to get two phones, one for business and one for pleasure, I guess you would say.
1:46
Actually, I just repaired this one, that's why it's still tangled, it was cracked two days ago.
1:46
I got a Barbie app on here, but it's not for me, it's for my goddaughters, that's why it's on here.
1:46
I have a group chat with my family, I have a group chat with my best friends back home, my old teammates from when I was a rookie.
1:46
I got a little bunch of group chats.
1:46
Shout out to A Ringer.
1:46
The Ringer group chat is what we call ourselves back home.
1:46
Peace of love to all of you.
1:46
These are the Bose frames sunglasses and what's so unique about them is, yes, they're stylish, but they're also Bluetooth speakers.
1:46
So when I come into a game and I want to be stylish or you go to a high city like Miami, there's sun outside, put these bad boys on, but at the same time, I can listen to music and have conversations from my sunglasses.
1:46
Nobody would even know.
1:46
So the best thing about them that I like about it that they still look good at the same time.
1:46
Everybody I've talked about this or who I see me with these, one them like, y'all relax on all of them, they're coming out soon, don't worry about it.
1:46
This is my right now, my essential.
1:46
This is Victor Oladipo in the Indiana Pacers signing out for my GQ essentials.
1:46
Peace.
