Well, I used to be in a band, and we used to record bands, so I had to know how microphones work, and what compressors do, and what EQs do, and how to cut out the stuff you don't want to hear.

So when I started making electronic music, I already kind of had the knowledge, and then I just had to figure out how to use synths and how to make sounds and how to mix.

That's how I learned to produce, nobody taught me, I just trial and error until I was good enough.
